Exercise

Join us daily for your exercise routine!

Did you get your exercise today? It is never too late to begin an exercise program. Exercise is basic to good health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American College of Sports Medicine, “Every adult should accumulate 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity physical activity on most, preferably all, days of the week."

So what are some of the things you can do?

*Cycling, 8 to 10 mph
*Brisk walking 3 to 4 mph for most healthy adults (even during lunch)
*Swimming
*Table tennis
*Active gardening
*Aerobics

Exercise protects against coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, mature onset diabetes, obesity, certain cancers (bowel and breast), osteoporosis, anxiety and depression.

Have you ever noticed those people whom you see jogging day after day? They are the ones who seem not to need to jog. But that's why they are fit. Those who are successful work at staying fit. But those who are not physically fit do little to change their status.

Most of us want to be physically fit and the majority of us know what is required to achieve this. But despite that knowledge, most people never become well conditioned physically. Why not? Because they don't have the discipline to just do it. They don't budget their time to just do it.

We need to plan our days, weeks, months and year. We need to budget for exercise like we budget for anything else. Make a date each day with your body. The thing is if you plan to eat, work or play you must plan to exercise. Plan to get up earlier, stay up later, park your car further away at the stores, walk during lunch, and if your budget allows and you think you need the push, join a gym. The best time of day is morning. Why? Because, we get it behind us and we don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day, it somehow helps with appetite control, so we eat less, the endorphins are released and we are on top of the world, no more depression, anxiety and periods of despair.

If you have no vision of your potential, you have no hope of victory. "Action is a law of our being. Every organ of the body [including the brain] has its appointed work, upon the performance of which its development and strength depend" [The Ministry of Healing, p. 237].

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

Have an active day!
